Property prices in vertiginous growth (100% up for houses over the last decade and up to 153% for apartments), a supply side that needs developing (there are 2,000 too few houses every year) and enormous pressure on the demand side (with a strong and continuous increase in the active population) are the many indicators that testify to the challenges around housing policy. Ensuring access to housing, whether rented or owned, at prices that are affordable for as many people as possible is primarily a question of social equity.
